Join Tour Leader, John Swart on a ‘B’ pace road ride from Port Dover to Port Rowan/Long Point and return.
Date: Thursday May 18, 2023 (to avoid weekend crowds along the lake)
Start Time: 10 am
Start Location: Lions Silver Lake Park, 320 St. Patrick Street, Port Dover
Distance: 92 km. We’ll follow the Lake Erie shoreline from Port Dover to Port Rowan, head out along the causeway to Long Point, and then return to Port Dover via an inland route. We’ll stop for lunch/snacks at an as yet undetermined spot at the western end of the ride. Suggest bringing a couple energy bars.
Equipment: This is a road ride, so no special equipment is needed.
No Cue Sheet/Map/Ride with GPS: This is designated as a Group Ride.
Pace and Skill Level: Rated B3 – Approximately 300 metres of elevation gain. There are some choppy hills on the ride as we go along the shore, but nothing more than riding Roland Road or Hansler Road through Short Hills locally. There will be viewing stops along the way.
