SUMMARY:Ad Hoc Gravel Ride - Canfield-Caledonia-Cayuga Loop
DESCRIPTION:Join Tour Leader\, John Swart on a ‘B’ pace gravel ride on a loop that will include Canfield-Caledonia-Cayuga. The route will be pre-ridden at least 10 days prior to the event to ensure no changes are necessary. \nDate:  Saturday\, May 16 \nStart Time: 9:30 am \nStart Location:  TBD \nDistance:  68 km \nRide with GPS Link: available one week before the ride \nCue Sheet/Map/Ride with GPS: This is designated as a group ride\, so we will stick together. To allow for final pre-riding\, a RWGPS link will be provided approximately one week before the ride date. A paper map will also be available to those on the ride if requested in advance. \nEquipment: Any gravel or hybrid/touring/road bike will work as long as the tires are suitable. The gravel roads are generally well packed\, and there are many paved sections joining the gravel portions\, so 700 x 32c tires or wider with tread will work. \nPace and Skill Level: These are group rides\, with ‘A’ and ‘B’ riders welcome. Riding gravel can require more energy to push the pedals\, so we will ride at the lower end of the ‘B’ pace range. Terrain will be rated as 3 or 4. The ride is designed to present interesting new territory and will not be a race. The route will include gravel and occasional clay\, so decent bike handling skills will be important. \nWeather: If it is very rainy the day before or on the day of the event\, the ride may be cancelled. Dusty bikes are good\, but mud is no fun. If you have advised the leader that you plan to attend\, you will be contacted with any changes. \nContact Information: If you plan to attend\, please contact John Swart or call/text him at 905-980-4213. This will facilitate contacting everyone in case of any last-minute changes\, should anyone want to car pool\, or whatever. If you have any questions at any time\, please do not hesitate to contact John.
